Hey, I’m glad you’ve found me.
I’m Amanda Westphal, an experienced and registered counsellor.
My journey to becoming a therapist has been anything but ordinary, filled with diverse experiences and personal growth that have shaped who I am today.
I’m a proud mum of two energetic sons in primary school and have been blissfully married for ten years to a man I’m absolutely bananas for. When I’m not working, you’ll often find me at the gym, painting, or engrossed in a thrilling non-fiction book.
Before following my true calling, I had an exciting career in entertainment, working for Nova 969 and Universal Music. I even had the unique experience of coordinating interviews with Lady Gaga at the Hilton Hotel in Sydney. Despite these glamorous moments, it was my volunteer work with the Salvation Army that truly made my heart sing, connecting with incredible people over a simple cup of coffee.
I later channeled my entrepreneurial spirit into launching Australia’s first online PR agency, serving over 400 clients. But my passion for understanding and helping others led me to pursue a career in counselling. It took me ten years to earn my Bachelor’s degree in counselling, and it’s one of my proudest achievements.
Having lived through the challenges of raising kids with ASD, battling PMDD, dealing with anxiety and depression, navigating IVF, family conflicts, and supporting loved ones in addiction, I bring a wealth of personal experience to my practice. I’m deeply passionate about listening to people’s stories and helping them find their path to healing and growth.
I absolutely love being a counsellor. It’s my true calling, and I’m exactly where I’m meant to be. I hope we connect.
Welcome to the Practice Pod, our garden sanctuary.
My office is a quiet space in the bottom of a tropical garden. As we sit in the beautiful space we’ll hear cicada’s, kookaburra’s, and sometimes be interrupted by a dragonfly. The location is on the outskirts of the Garigal national park, and there’s plenty of birds and garden to help you feel relaxed.
Being located in a residential street, means your privacy and safety are a priority, plus there’s always easy parking.
